Rachel Deeming
Rachel is a mother of two boys, one 18 months old and the other a busy boy of four. She used to work until recently as an English teacher in England, U.K. but is now living in Australia. She decided after having read other people's work for a long time, analysing it and marking it, that it may be quite a nice thing to do some writing herself.
She has always done writing of some sort over the years from creative writing in her teens and poetry to reviews and articles now she has more experience. She enjoys mainly writing reviews for books (an English teacher always has their head in a book - reading it, of course) and reads a wide variety of fiction: popular especially those texts recommended by book clubs; fantasy, Robin Hobb being one of her most memorable reads for imagination; Roman historical especially Steven Saylor, a real favourite; historical; murder mystery, etc. Her tastes are eclectic.
She loves visiting castles and used to spend a lot of time in Wales from where she originally came. Hobbies include walking, knitting, going to the cinema (when time allows) and generally laughing a lot (see picture for proof).
She has, since writing for Suite101, had several of her articles chosen as the Editor's Choice which has made her immensely proud.
